We wanted to make you
aware of a special basketball tournament that is being held in the Houston area June 27-29, 2008 benefiting the Larry Johnson Memorial
Fund.
Larry
Johnson was a coach, administrator, counselor, and - above all - an
advocate for countless young lives. Our community lost Larry far
too soon. He is survived by Pam, Marquis, and Jerrod...and so
many more lives that he touched.
The Larry Johnson Memorial Hoop Fest is
dedicated to preserving
Larry's memory and
continuing his legacy.
The tournament takes place
June 27-29, 2008 and is open to 13U through 16U boys' teams.
The entry fee is $395 per team.
There will be Champion and
Runner-Up t-shirts for 1st and 2nd place, and one "Board
Award" for the player, regardless of age group, who shows the most
passion and assertiveness rebounding.
In addition, there will be
a special Friday Barbecue Plate Dinner ($8 per plate) on Friday night,
June 27 from 5pm-9pm at Atascocita High School.
All proceeds go to the
Larry Johnson Memorial Fund.

Leasleypalooza Volume V, sponsored by Glazer's, will be
held Saturday June 21 at The Lake Country Club. The golf tournament tees
off at 10
a.m. with a concert at 7 p.m. Your $95 donation covers green fee, golf cart,
range balls, BBQ lunch, tournament T-shirt, goodie bag, and concert ticket.
We will have our usual assortment of great prizes, including a Pat Green
autographed guitar.
The concert features
Donna Beckham and award-winning Jonquil Street Band as the headliner.
